I’m David Rolo — I run drolo, a one‑person operation based in the rural south of Belgium where I design and hand‑assemble pedals. I make experimental pedals to solve my own needs: often starting with a specific idea, getting curious, and then letting happy accidents steer the final result. I like introducing a bit of randomness into the signal chain to nudge players out of muscle memory. My pedals get used on guitars, synths, drums, harps, saxophones, violins, computers, phones, cooking pots… you name it.

I run small batches with regular restocks — typically a different pedal each month — and I ship worldwide. Sign up to the mailing list for availability and restock alerts.

I don’t have much else to say about me, but while you’re here I want to give credit to a few people and communities that helped make this possible:

  • diystompboxes.com — for the huge amount of info and the helpful people (Mark Hammer, R.G. Keen, …)
  • madbeanpedals.com — for an incredibly friendly community and the projects that taught me a lot
  • spinsemi.com/forum — for invaluable technical knowledge, code samples and members (knutolai, igorp, etc.)
  • The great pedal makers that inspire me: Chase Bliss, OBNE, Red Panda, Zvex, CooperFx, Empress Effects, DBA, Rainger, and many more
  • Wonderful musician friends who’ve been so supportive over the years — too many to list
  • Last but definitely not least all the wonderful customers who’ve made it possible for me to keep doing this

Thanks, everyone!
