I’m David Rolo. I run drolo on my own, out in the rural south of Belgium, designing and hand-assembling pedals.
I make experimental pedals to solve my own needs. Usually starts with a specific idea, I get curious, and happy accidents steer where it ends up. I like putting a bit of randomness in the signal chain, enough to knock players out of muscle memory. People end up running these through guitars, synths, drums, harps, saxophones, violins, computers, phones, cooking pots… whatever they’ve got.
I build in small batches with regular restocks, usually a different pedal each month, and I ship worldwide. Sign up for the mailing list if you want to know when something’s back in stock.
Not much else to say about me, but while you’re here, some credit is owed:
- diystompboxes.com, for the huge amount of info and the people who were generous with their time (Mark Hammer, R.G. Keen, and others)
- madbeanpedals.com, for a genuinely friendly community and projects that taught me a lot
- spinsemi.com/forum, for technical knowledge I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else, and members like knutolai and igorp
- The pedal makers who keep me inspired: Chase Bliss, OBNE, Red Panda, Zvex, CooperFx, Empress Effects, DBA, Rainger, and plenty more
- Musician friends who’ve supported this over the years, too many to name
- And everyone who’s bought a pedal and let me keep doing this
Thanks, all.
